About LabBuild LLC: Combining Passion & Success

Sterling Greni’s fascination with construction started at an early age while playing with Legos. This fascination manifested itself with classes in mathematics, sciences and advanced topics in primary and secondary school culminating with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, SD. Despite graduating in December 2008 at the height of the financial crisis, Sterling secured employment as a plumbing design engineer for ACCO Engineered Systems based in Glendale, CA. During his tenure at ACCO Engineered Systems, Sterling worked on projects ranging from $10,000 tenant improvements all the way up to $1 billion municipal hospitals, including several high rise residential buildings, parking garages, pilot plants, and numerous laboratories.

The Saga of LabBuild began...

After completing a 10 month training program, Sterling hit the road covering a large, largely unworked territory including western North and South Dakota, western Nebraska, Montana, and Wyoming. Despite the seemingly barren landscape, Sterling flourished, increasing sales by 100%. In 2015, a retirement and resulting open position allowed Sterling to move to the Denver, CO, area from Rapid City, SD. From 2015 to 2021, Sterling increased territory sales by almost 400%. Part of this success included a large furniture project for one of his key accounts. Despite a number of hurdles, the project was completed. Despite the successful completion, the end of the project left a hole in Sterling’s heart. With a passion for construction reignited and an opportunity at hand, the saga of LabBuild began…
