This configuration makes the 400 suitable for oversized glassware, distillation towers, pilot-scale assemblies, and specialty apparatus up to 85 inches tall. Additionally, the hood uses 5-inch front posts to support its structural frame, and labs can select from a wide range of available heights and depths.

The 400 Series includes full-frame construction, a shaft-driven sash system, and a U.L.-listed poly resin liner. LED lighting provides even illumination across the full vertical working area. Additionally, its knock-down design makes installation easier, even when the hood must pass through narrow doorways, corridors, or turns. This same feature simplifies later service and reconfiguration.

The airflow system supports steady face velocity throughout the entire sash range. A louvered front panel helps maintain bypass airflow to reduce turbulence. Operators benefit from a full-length finger lift for smooth sash movement, and dual counterbalance systems stabilize the sash throughout its travel.

The 400 Series connects to standard ductwork through a 10-inch stainless-steel round collar. The hood is available in widths of 48″, 60″, 72″, 96″, and 120″. These sizing options help labs match the unit to space requirements, clearance limitations, or large-scale instrumentation. The hood supports installation in CV or VAV environments.

Labs can customize the 400 Series with accessories such as alarms, stainless-steel sashes, blowers, pre-plumbing, lattice assemblies, ceiling enclosures, horizontal hanging doors, and stainless-steel ramps.
